We owned N9744U years back... It was a great airplane.. Many memories.. Had to sell because of 3rd child.. seeing it makes my eyes tear up.. Thanks to all that made it shine again..
My parents lived a few blocks from the airport from about 1956 to 1977. My dad learned to fly at Charlie's school and I took my first real flying lessons in one of Charlie's and Al's pink Aeronca 7 ACs. I went to High school with Bob Olsen who lived across the street from where the Museum is now.
My Mom, Edith Salerno, was a student of Charlie's back in the 1940's and earned her private pilot license with Charlie in an Aeronca Chief under the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) program. Edie Salerno can be reached today on her iPhone (for voice-call, text or Facetime) at +1 509.995.1921. She would love to chat with you about her adventures with Charlie McAllister!
