Chairman’s Corner
2012 has been a good year for the MMA. We had a visit in June by the C.A.F. with its B17, several “unique aircraft” Saturdays, and another successful yard sale in September. We have money in the bank, a great board of directors, and a group of volunteers ready to go to work.
MMA and the Museum of Flight are discussing the possibility of bringing Charlie’s “Yakima Clipper” back to Yakima. One of the issues is “where do we put it?” Your board is pursuing the idea of a new building addition to our present museum. This will require a fundraising campaign and a lot of hard work. If any of you are interested in being part of this project please contact the museum.
We want to say “Welcome aboard” to our two new board members, Warren Robins and Ken Mark, who were elected at our annual meeting on Oct. 24. Current board member Mike Bull was re-elected for another three years. Thanks to all three of you for your willingness to serve on our board. Election of board officers will be held at our next board meeting.
Don’t forget to join us for this year’s annual Veterans Day “coffee and cookies” on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 10-3. This is always a well-attended event, so stop in and visit.
In closing, remember that the museum runs on the strength of our volunteers, so volunteer. It doesn’t hurt a bit!
Greg Babcock
THANK YOU!!
Many thanks to Don Rasmussen and the yard sale crew for another successful yard sale. We raised over $1,200 for expansion/improvement of our display area.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR NOTES
VOLUNTEERS — We always need more, especially for Saturdays.
Getting into the volunteer docent program is easy and painless. After “signing up,” a new volunteer will be given a training manual containing written information about a docent’s duties and a video outlining docent procedures. New volunteers also get “on the job” training with an experienced docent.
Doing the docent thing can be an enjoyable experience, and docents can meet some interesting people. You never know who’s going to drop in.
If you want to join our group of volunteers you can phone me — Liggett Taylor — at 453-6904 or send an e-mail to ltaylor6904@msn.com.
FUEL SAVINGS
Want to save money on your aviation fuel? All you need is a current voting (veteran, individual, or family) membership and an active debit/credit card and you can save 35 cents per gallon on your fuel.
Want to save even more?!? If you purchase a prepaid MMA “cash” card for a minimum of $250 (cash or check, plus $10 for the card itself) you can save another 17 cents per gallon, bringing your total discount to 52 cents per gallon!!
See Roberta to register your debit/credit card or purchase a “cash” card.
NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS
We have a new e-mail address. It is info@mcallistermuseum.org. If you happen to forget and send an e-mail to our old e-mail address it will still get to us.
If you were unable to attend the annual meeting on Oct. 24 send us an e-mail and we will e-mail copies of the meeting minutes and the pertinent handouts to you.
Are Your Dues “Due”?
If you’re not sure whether you have renewed your membership for this year look at the address label on this mailing — the entry in the top right-hand corner of the label is your membership expiration date. If you haven’t been a member for a while – WE MISS YOU! and would love to have you rejoin our growing family. Remember, your McAllister Museum membership gives you free admission to the Museum of Flight in Seattle and the Pearson Air Museum in Vancouver, WA as well as discounts on fuel and gift shop purchases here at McAllister’s.
