Tim Gibson will show his one-of-a-kind G-1 experimental airplane in the third of this summer’s “unique airplane presentations and flying demonstrations.”
He designed and built the wood-construction plane himself. Powered by a Continental O-200 engine putting out 100 horsepower, it can cruise at 150 miles an hour.
Showcase presentations last about an hour. They begin with pilots giving a short talk about their planes, with spectators behind a rope crowd line, in keeping with Transportation Security Administration regulations. After pilots make a short demonstration flight, the rope line will be moved and spectators will be allowed to look at the planes up close and talk to the pilots.
There is no admission charge for the showcases or to the museum, but donations are appreciated.
